Application guide - conformal coating spray valve to PCB (printed circuit boards)

Customers applying conformal coating material onto the surface of an assembled printed circuit board to provide protection against moisture, dust and corrosion from extreme environments.

Solution to use a TS5540-046R precision spray valve, TS500R digital valve controller and TS1258 pressure pot. Boards can be sprayed at close proximity with low pressure to eliminate overspray and reduce fumes. Micro control over spray pattern to ensure zero mess. Used either by linking to a parent machine (PLC) and connecting via the I/O port. Or using the supplied foot pedal for manual control. Deposits can be timed to ensure consistency.

The valve is compact and therefore easily positioned above, to the side or below the work piece. For multiple valve installations, a manifold is used. Stroke adjustment on each valve can be used to fine tune the accuracy. These valves can run a high speed repeatable deposits or on continuous flow. Black fluid lines and tubing can be used if glues are easily affected by any light.
